My Perception of Education, Technology, Instruction, DE, and Learning:

9/10/09 - This is difficult; I have only really though of education, and the lot, as a means to an end - but now I must put into words the new information I have learned, and attempt to make it my own. Well, here's my first attempt, I will add more as I go - please feel free to comment on any of it!

Education:The cumulation or process of formally gaining experence and knowledge. If one does not 'have' an education, then one needs to 'get' an education.

Technology:Instruments that help one access, understand, manipulate, or accomplish a task.

Instruction:Providing the skills it takes to meet a challenge or solve a problem. Instruction grows outward in that each newly aquired skill can be used with other skills to solve increasingly complex problems.

Distant Education (DE):The Formal gaining of experience and knowledge via communicative technology, as apposed to face-to-face (F2F), or in person, on-site.

Learninga change in one's behavior, or perception after a specfic experience or a series of experiences.

Next time:
a) present your own theoretical approach to instruction and elaborate with activities and technologies (new and old) that illustrate its implementation.
b) Links to a subject(s) meaningful to you, e.g. Math, Geography, etc. Group the links under categories such as tutorials, papers, videos, audio, etc. You can decide how to categorize your information. Consider sites such as slideshare, youtube, edutube, merlot, etc. Network with others and do good websearches to uncovers good resources.
